As parents, this year we will be tempted to ask our children about their school days likely with COVID in mind. Be sure, though, to ask about other elements of their day as well.
Questions such as “What did you do/learn in school today?” sometimes lead to answers like “nothing.”
Instead try these: “What was the best part of your day?” and “What was challenging for you today?” These open-ended questions enable your children to respond with an anecdote about their friends, their teachers, or their learning!
