Guys Read
I often recommend this series to schools and parents looking to engage boys in reading. Jon Scieszka invites authors to contribute to a theme. Each book is a collection of short stories on a common topic: Funny Business, Terrifying Tales, The Sports Pages, Heroes and Villains, True Stories, Thriller. Boys who may be a little more reluctant to read something longer can dive into one of these books. They look like a novel to their peers but the reader can choose to read one or more of the engaging short stories. Much more manageable.
